This is definitely worth the 18 mile drive north of I-10 on Hwy 80.

Father's Day 2008

Flores Family Reunion

"Love Hurts" -San Antonio style

A South American musical group was playing in the Mercado Courtyard outside of Mi Tierra in San Antonio, complete with flutes and requintos (or some little bitty guitarish thing).  There was a pretty nice crowd of tourists, and they all seemed to be spending money on something.  This must have been a good weekend for the locals.  Viva San Antonio!

Tributo a Emilio Navaira (Tribute)

Los hijos de Emilio Navaira presentaron en la celebracion de los Premios a la Musica Latina en San Antonio, Texas. Fue una sorpresa 'esperada' escuchar el canto 'Juntos' en tributo a Emilio que esta recuperando en hospital en Houston, Texas despues de un acidente unos semanas antes. El teatro historico Majestic estaba lleno de estrellas y aficionados de la musica Latina y estamos orgullosos que unos primos fueron nombrados como candidatos para recibir este honor. Quisas el año que entra! :)

The sons of Emilio Navaira, noted Tejano singing sensation, presented a tribute to their father at the Latino Music Awards on April 1, 2008 in the historic Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Texas. The 2 sons and their producer sang an acoustic rendition of 'Juntos' (Together) as images of their father were displayed on the video screens. The crowd gave a standing ovation in hopeful support of Emilio's speedy recovery.
Our extended family members, Henry Brun and Judi DeLeon were also nominated but missed out on this years awards, having received recognition in the past in the Latin Jazz categories.
