Israeli newspaper publishes Obama's private prayer

I read this on the Yahoo News today: It's a moderate request this Senator wrote - but why would that other voyeuristic person have dared go digging out this private petition! All for a headline. tsk tsk tsk

Israeli newspaper publishes Obama's private prayer - Yahoo! News http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080725/ap_on_re_mi_ea/israel_obama_s_note

"Lord — Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will,"

I believe right now would be a good time to pray for our President and other national leaders, as well as those of other countries.

"Thanks!" - from Pop

My father would like to thank all of you who are praying. Please view the brief video 'Thank You.'

What I am learning as we walk through this is that each of us can be encouraged that our contribution in prayer is making a difference. To quote the 'Unknown Philosopher': "Anyone who thinks they are too small to make a difference has never spent the night with a mosquitoe."

The Atheist in the Woods

A wonderful revisit of a classic piece. Thanks R.Z.!!

An atheist was walking through the woods.
"What majestic trees"!
"What powerful rivers"!
"What beautiful animals"!
He said to himself.
As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him. He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.
At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh my God!"
Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.
As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. "You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident." "Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?"
The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian?"

"Very Well," said the voice.
The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:

"Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen."

Come Together. John 17:20-23

So, what has been the impact or reaction to See You At The Pole over the last 17 years where you are? My children are out of public school now, and I have a conference that day (September 26, 2007 7:00am), but I wondered how many community people are supporting this VERY PUBLIC demonstration of PRAYER. (57 days to go)

Bud Lenz & the Tribe in Peru

To all of my blog visitors,

I regularly receive updates from a co-laborer in the Harvest Fields. Bud & Laura Lenz and their children are faithfully impacting a community in the Peruvian highlands with an orphanage and school. I really enjoy hearing of his life lessons and opportunities on the MISSION FIELD. Kurt Zimmerman is his state-side communications link. If you would like to communicate with Bud (or the tribe), you may be able to connect thru Kurt's address. Please pray for this ministry, and open your heart as the Lord speaks to you about any opportunities to partner with this and other ministries.

Giga-Bendiciones & PAX,
=max=

Subject: Thank You to all our supporters

The other day we were talking about faith in the men's group and how it should be constantly growing. I remembered back when the Lord led us to leave the golf course architecture business and live by faith, ministering on the streets of Houston. There were only 4 children at that point. Then when He called us to Peru... there were seven children at that point and a lot of people told us we were crazy. But here we are, nine plus years later, two more children born here - in the JUNGLE of all places! - and another 25 Peruvian children filling our home with a never ending stream of... what should we call it? Adventure? Excitement? ... Maybe we should just say that there is rarely, if ever, a dull moment. The variety of colds and flues and diarrheas give new meaning to the word "epidemic". I believe you have a term back there in the States: soccer mom??? Again, new meaning. Among whatever other ministerial duties there may be, there are ballet lessons and recitals and soccer practices and games and singing lessons and concerts... And all worth it. The smiles and hugs - and even the tears - make it all worth it.
Yes, faith should constantly be growing. God knows how much we can take and when we are able to believe for His provision - whether for 2 or for 200. He knows when we are able, when to open the windows of heaven, when to shut them for a while; when to flex our faith muscles and when to simply let His provision flow. And always supplying grace upon grace.
Thank you all for being a part of it by prayer and by your gracious giving. You have been more a part of the lives of so many children and other people than you can imagine. May God richly bless you all,
bud, for the tribe.
