DVULI Volunteered @ Day One of Houston's annual Share-A-Thon. I sat at phone #28 and only when we did the Texas Phone Blitz did it ring, but then it kept on ringing for several more calls! Later they moved us to table 3 (phone #9) and I was able to take a few more pledges and speak with several supporters. It was fun to be with the DVULI family and support our alum Kim Kossie and all the great work she does for America's most recognized Contemporary Christian Radio Station: www.KSBJ.org

The Original Acquisition...
my first transaction was the white 13" MacBook. It only took 3 evenings to realize that my greasy fingerprints & high acid content in my skin were gonna 'frag' the palm rest. The management 'Thanks J.' were very helpful in getting me into one of the Black MacBooks. Now that is a working machine! [only suggestion for future buyers... due to the Dual Core Processors, the 512Mb is actually only 256Mb per processor. Make the leap as soon as possible to get increased RAM capacity. I am having to keep few apps open at a time {a real crunch for those of you who know my ops style}.

Multiple Staff Opportunities
I was tended by no less than 6 individuals before the final transaction. The most common phrase was "Let me go check on that!" I know this store will come into it's own soon. There's a special place in my Mac History here, even though the Woodland Opening was my first, I think this was better in some senses.

Apple store #3 @ Memorial City. My 2nd Grand Opening. The community of 'nerdity' in the lines was so varied. Married couples with their young 'nerdy' children who will probably be CEO's soon, and high school prodigies who can't wait to get enough money together to get a real computer for Creative Types! It's so good to have a Mac! & you gotta love their online commercials! www.mac.com

Tripitas in East Palo Alto @ 3Brothers Taqueria
No, your eyes do not deceive you... It's tripas in East Palo Alto at the Three Brothers Taqueria! The flourescent lighting does no justice to the Golden Brown toasted flavor of these tripitas! Sure was good. Can't wait to go back & munch out again... not too many times of course. Gotta watch the cholesterol (HAHAHAHAH)
On the ground in San Jose Airport
On the ground! East Palo Alto here we come... then The Lord's Land retreat near Ft. Bragg... all that was written before I got to the luggage carousel and found that my bag's had stayed in the hands of our very capable T S A staff in Houston. I had to go buy clothes for Sunday Morning! And all my good stuff was in the missing bag. It finally showed up at 2pm the next day. Thanks Continental for making me understand that I should always have an extra of everything in my carry-on bag. :)
Chasing the Setting Sun!
In this beautiful view I noticed how fast the sun slides over the horizon. I took a lotta pictures, and even though they were only seconds apart, the change was dramatic!
Heriberto Pineda
These pallbearers stood faithful guard in the mid-day sun in North Houston. As Brother Pineda was laid to rest, it closed a chapter on a wonderful teacher's life. After being declared dead several years ago, he was miraculously resurrected and was able to continue for several years to provide a great service to Latin America training indigenous leaders to impact their country.

Tinseltown Movie Premiere
Lift Up America teamed up with Somebody Cares America to present the premiere of Meet me in Miami. Over 1000 children & families were blessed with eye & vision screening & free glasses & hearing aids. Boxes & bags of groceries were also given to them as they went home at the end of a wonderful night.
